Peers fight to block Chagos giveaway

The House of Lords has started an attempt to block Sir Keir Starmer from handing over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius. A new Private Member’s Bill seeks to prevent the British territory being given away without government approval, a referendum of the Chagossian people and an act of Parliament.
