Britain’s blasphemy belt offers a glimpse into our fractured future

As the country focuses on Labour’s collapse and Keir Starmer’s increased political vulnerability, little attention has been given to what went on in the “blasphemy belt”. This 50-odd-mile stretch – which starts in Blackburn and Darwen in Lancashire and ends in Wakefield, West Yorkshire – contains wards with significant South Asian populations.
