NHS drops plans to block patients from hospitals after Telegraph exposé

The NHS has dropped a controversial target designed to prevent patients from going to hospital after a backlash from doctors. Plans to slash the number of patients referred by GPs to hospitals were introduced earlier this month, with a goal to reduce them by 25 per cent over the next year.
