China accuses Japan of glorifying wartime aggression after shrine visit

China has accused Japan of “trampling ‌on ‌human ⁠conscience” after members of Sanae Takaichi’s cabinet visited a controversial war shrine in Tokyo. The Yasukuni shrine is dedicated to 2.5 million war dead that are collectively enshrined there as “eirei” heroic spirits who sacrificed their lives for Japan.
