The Met handed me an apology written to close a file. I’m not closing it

On May 18, the Metropolitan Police apologised to me. After five months of internal review, after a formal complaint, after legal action paid for by people who don’t even know me, Insp Matt Hume of the directorate of professional standards put his name to a document admitting that the service I received was “not acceptable” and that aspects of the investigation “lacked the diligence one would expect from the Metropolitan Police”.
