China has been using ChatGPT to sow unrest in the US, generating fake images and cartoons in an effort to turn Americans against AI. OpenAI said a “cluster” of accounts based in China had been manipulating its ChatGPT bot to run “covert influence operations” targeting US voters with anti-AI messaging.
