Iran player who sought asylum airbrushed from homecoming celebration

A member of the Iranian women’s football team who sought asylum in Australia has been omitted from a homecoming celebration photograph despite playing in every match of the Asian Cup. The squad were granted a hero’s welcome on their return to Tehran from Australia on Thursday even after some of the players had made and then withdrew asylum claims.
