Rape victims urge MPs to support jury trial reform

Rape and domestic abuse victims who have waited up to four years for justice have written to MPs urging them to back David Lammy’s curbs on jury trials. The 17 victims hit back at claims that their experiences of lengthy delays in the court system were being “weaponised” to support the Justice Secretary’s plans to tackle the record backlogs of nearly 80,000 cases.
