Gulf nations have lost faith in Britain as a military partner, Sir Nick Hine, the former Sea Lord, has warned. Sir Nick, a retired vice admiral and the chief executive of Babcock Marine, said the withdrawal of the last UK minesweeper from Bahrain weeks before the start of the Iran war had strained relations with allies in the region.
