Worst youth worklessness crisis since records began

The number of economically inactive young people has risen to the highest level since records began, with more than 610,000 16 to 24-year-olds not in work or searching for a job. It comes as a landmark report has found that youth worklessness is costing Britain £125bn a year, nearly double the nation’s entire defence budget.
