The mob of Donald Trump supporters who stormed the US Capitol in an attempt to overthrow the 2020 presidential election may be entitled to a share of a new $1.8 billion (£1.4 billion) fund created by the president for “victims” of Joe Biden’s justice department. A new Anti-Weaponisation Fund announced by the Trump administration on Monday will secure cash handouts and formal apologies for people who were found to have been politically persecuted under the former president.
