Mothers forced to travel 75 miles to give birth

Britain’s maternity crisis has become so severe that some women in labour must travel more than 75 miles to reach an NHS unit with a decent rating. More than 1.2 million women of childbearing age live at least 20 miles from a highly rated maternity unit, analysis by The Telegraph shows, while entire counties have no maternity services rated “good” or “outstanding”.
