The Prime Minister backed a lawyer who played a leading role in the most egregious “witch hunt” against British troops in recent history, The Telegraph can reveal. In 2017, Sir Keir Starmer, who was a newly elected Labour MP at the time, stepped in to defend Martyn Day, a solicitor who faced being struck off because of his role in the Al-Sweady scandal.
