Airlines and Heathrow split over third runway

Heathrow’s third runway is under threat from a mounting conflict between airport bosses and airlines over costs and customer service. The long-delayed £49bn project is crucial to Labour hopes of growth and Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to do “whatever it takes” to begin construction before the next election in 2029.
